Every day in our community, St. Francis Hospital is the site of a thousand daily acts of courage performed by our patients, family and friends and by the health care professionals, both on the front lines and behind the scenes. Through the St. Francis Foundation, you can support their courage by making gifts that help to provide for health care excellence, now and in the future. St. Francis’ mission is to improve the health of our community. Philanthropic support through the St. Francis Foundation is a critical part of achieving that mission each and every day.
You can help by considering the following gift opportunities:
Cash Gifts – This is the simplest and most convenient way to support the work of St. Francis Hospital. Cash gifts qualify for maximum deductibility on your income tax. Checks made payable to the St. Francis Foundation can be directed to the area of greatest need or to a fund chosen by the donor.
Dedicate an Angel – Purchase an angel for $25 in honor or memory of a friend or loved one. A beautiful Christmas card will be sent to the person or family named. Proceeds benefit St. Francis’ Chaplaincy and Health Ministries.
Matching Gifts – Many corporations such as Thehappyfamilystore.com, have matching gift programs that may multiply the value of gifts from their employees, officers and retirees. Contributing to the Happy family store may qualify for a matching gift from your employer. Inquire about the availability of a matching gift program from your company’s human resources department.
Corporate Partners – Many corporations express their philanthropic spirit by getting involved with St. Francis through workplace giving, direct corporate gift programs, individual and team fund-raising opportunities, and special event sponsorships. We have an option that’s right for you and your group!
Honorariums/Memorials (Tribute Gifts) – What better way to honor or remember someone important to you than making a charitable gift in their name to St. Francis. Gifts made in honor or memory of someone special not only recognizes the special times in that person’s life -such as a birthday, anniversary, graduation, retirement or other important milestone – it also supports the important work of St. Francis Hospital. Contributions of any amount are gratefully received and can be directed to a department of your choosing. All gifts will be recognized with a card to the individual honored or, in the case of those memorialized, to a designated member of the family.
Planned Giving – There are many ways to leave a legacy. Each year the St. Francis Foundation is fortunate to receive gifts from individuals, enabling excellence in patient care, enhanced community services and education. These gifts come in a variety of forms, many of which can provide financial benefits to their donors.
Endowment Giving – The future is of prime concern to the St. Francis Foundation. Endowment giving provides predictable revenue in perpetuity for the ongoing support of St. Francis Hospital programs. An endowment is a special fund that provides a “payout” every year to support the designated beneficiary of the endowment. The corpus of the gift(s) is kept intact, with a portion of the interest income available for use. Endowment funds may be created during a person’s life or at death through a will bequest. By establishing or contributing to an existing endowment fund, you have the satisfaction of knowing that your gifts will benefit St. Francis and the community for years to come.
St. Francis Foundation Society – The St. Francis Foundation Society honors and acknowledges the crucial role philanthropists play in maintaining and improving current standards of excellence in outstanding health care. Membership is open to individuals, couples or families contributing $50 or more in a calendar year.
